Terroir

Terroir

Fuligni firmly believes in the concept of Terroir as the essence of great wines.

Terroir is the cultural heritage of generations of winegrowers who insist on a certain land, finding its best exposures, improving cropping and wine-making techniques, as the Fuligni have done for over a century in their Montalcino estate.

Terroir is the combination of land, climate and culture in a broad sense, which leads to the production of unique wines that can last over decades and centuries, eluding momentary fashions.

Terroir is what makes a great wine different from its neighbour – a great wine has the power to arouse unique emotions and evoke memories, tastes, images and sensations solely associated with that specific wine.
